I like the metaphor of seeing each individual as a beautiful mosaic of experiences and emotions, with whole and broken parts. Getting to know (bring to conscious awareness), accept and ultimately appreciate each part is one of the opportunities of therapy.
Self-regulation is another important skill to learn; finding out what helps you stay calm under stress is a skill that we each must figure out for ourselves.
I have spent my adult life studying and practicing art, mindfulness and psychotherapy. My experience has allowed me to integrate these disciplines in a profound and practical way.
