Leave your stress behind in 2024

Take only what serves your greatest purpose into the New Year

There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all. Without creativity, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns.
— EDWARD DE BONO

Personal Development

Recognize how emotions influence behavior. Start to respond rather than simply react. Engage in regular self-care.

Childhood Issues

Every child experiences their lives in their own unique way. Allow them to tell their story. We can also re-visit our own childhood to understand and change our emotional reactions.

Neurodiversity

& ADHD

Embrace your uniqueness and individuality. Express yourself both verbally and creatively. Find a new way to advocate for yourself.

Medical & Mental Health Trauma
Hospitalization affects the whole family. We are so much more than a diagnosis.

Anxiety & Depression

Develop tools for staying calm and regulated. Shift your focus to the present to overcome feelings of overwhelm.

Hi, I’m Carla

I am a NYC based licensed psychotherapist, Board-certified Creative Arts Therapist, proud mom and artist with 20 years experience working with people from age 3 to 99.

After 12 years working at Montefiore Medical Center, I opened my private practice in 2019.

I believe that pro-active self-care is necessary for well-being, and that making small changes today leads to significant results tomorrow.

I am now offering Attachment-Focused EMDR as a way to address and reprocess past traumatic experiences.

Growth and change occur over the course of a lifetime.

Not just therapy as usual.

What is Creative Arts Therapy?

Creative therapy uses art-based activities, such as visual art, music and dance, to help treat emotional and mental health conditions.

Creative Arts Psychotherapy can help you understand your emotions and learn self-regulation to keep calm and learn to respond rather than to react.

Creative therapy does not require a person to have any sort of artistic ability. Part of creative therapy is helping a person channel their thoughts and emotions through artistic expression. For these reasons, creative therapy may be beneficial for people who have difficulty expressing their feelings verbally.
