Grief & Trauma

Loss is part of life and effects each of us in different ways. When we create our own symbols and metaphors, we connect deeply with the emotions stored in the body and the unconscious. We can feel relief when we bring expression to painful emotions and share how we feel with another person.

Trauma is a lasting emotional response caused by something that is too much to bear, whether it is a one time event or something that has continued over time. Art therapy can help you find a means of expression in order to continue to grow and thrive even in the face of adversity. Coming through life’s difficulties can build resilience and help develop empathy for oneself and for others.
